FAQs:

What conditions are considered dental emergencies?

Some common dental emergency situations that require immediate attention from an emergency dentist include:

  • Accidents resulting in soft tissue cuts and lacerations
  • Tooth avulsions (tooth falling out of their sockets) due to direct trauma or falls
  • Acute, sharp pain
  • Blows to the face that might result in severe tooth mobility
  • Severe, uncontrolled bleeding from the mouth
  • Swelling or ballooning of the oral soft tissues following trauma
  • Horizontal and vertical dental fractures

What should I do if my tooth falls out of the socket?

The first thing to remember is to remain calm. Next, make haste in locating the tooth and immediately place soak this tooth in your saliva, milk or saline solution in a clean container. You can also simply put the tooth in your mouth, where it will be surrounded by your saliva – but be very careful not to swallow it. If you can manage to follow these steps and make your way to our clinic, we can replant this tooth in the same socket using a splint, and it will heal within two weeks.

Is the clinic open in the evening or night for dental emergencies?

The office may be closed but you can call us. Our team will go the extra mile to make sure you get the medical attention and care you need, regardless of the time. We’ll give you step-by-step instructions and guidelines on how to manage your dental emergency till the office reopens. Our emergency patients do not require appointments and are our top priority when they visit the office.
